2025 Solid Waste Rates Update
Effective January 1, 2025
The City of Mountain House, in partnership with West Valley Disposal, will implement new solid waste rates for residential, commercial, and special services starting January 1, 2025.
Why Are Rates Increasing?
To continue providing reliable and sustainable waste management services, rate adjustments are necessary due to:
- Rising Operational Costs: Increases in fuel, labor, and equipment maintenance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Meeting new state and federal waste and recycling regulations.
- Sustainability Investments: Enhancing recycling programs and expanding organic waste collection.
- Inflation Adjustments: Aligning rates with the rising cost of living to maintain service quality.
New Residential Rates (Effective January 1, 2025)
- 60-Gallon Cart: $62.33/month (bi-weekly recycling) | $72.04/month (weekly recycling)
- 90-Gallon Cart: $67.48/month (bi-weekly recycling) | $77.18/month (weekly recycling)
- Senior Rates Available: Starting at $49.85/month
Commercial & Special Services
Commercial rates and special service charges (e.g., bulky item pickup, extra carts, and organic waste services) have also been updated.
