The MHCSD Board of Directors has created several committees/commissions to explore topics of interest to the Board. These independent committees/commissions meet periodically to develop and make recommendations for the full Board consideration. Generally, the committees/commissions are made up of 2 Board Members and three volunteer members chosen from Mountain House residents.

If you would like to apply to be on any of the MHCSD Committees/Commission, please fill out the MHCSD Board Appointment Application.

Transportation Committee

Manuel Moreno, Chairperson

The Transportation Committee's purpose is to enhance transportation options in Mountain House. They research and propose solutions to the Mountain House Board of Directors.

Public Safety Committee

Harry Dhillon, Chairperson

The Public Safety Committee's purpose is to enhance safety in Mountain House. We research and propose solutions to public safety concerns to the Board of Directors.

Youth Action Committee

Bernice Tingle, Chairperson

The Youth Action Committee is unique because its members are composed primarily of Mountain House teens that their peers elect. The committee encourages participation from all youth who attend the committee meetings. The committee meets once a month on the Tuesday before the MHCSD Board of Directors meeting (held on the second Wednesday of each month).

Recreation Commission

Chairperson

On June 8, 2022, the Board of Directors approved the establishment of a Recreation Commission.

The Commission will consist of five members of the community who will be appointed by the Board and serve for four years.  Commissions work with, and are supported by, District staff.   The Commission will follow rules established by Resolution for selecting a chairperson and conducting meetings, including the Brown Act.  The Board will assign tasks to the Commission, and the Commission will submit their findings, recommendations and proposed policies to the Board for consideration.  Some tasks that could be assigned to the Commission include:

  • Review proposed park amenities
  • Review policies regarding use of parks, picnic areas, and facilities
  • Evaluate and recommend the types and frequency of community recreation events
  • Recommend fees for the use of District facilities
