We’re making improvements along the south/east side of Central Parkway between Giotto Drive and Arturo Boulevard. This project includes building a new commercial driveway to support future neighborhood access. The sidewalk and shoulder in this area will be temporarily closed, and pedestrians will be detoured to the opposite side of the street.

Project Schedule:

• Sidewalk & Shoulder Closure: November 3–14, 2025

• Pedestrian Access: Please use marked crosswalks to reach the opposite side of Central.

Traffic control will be on-site during construction.

Arnaudo Boulevard (Eastbound)

• When: Thursday, November 6–Friday, November 7, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

• Where: Between De Anza Blvd and Mountain House Parkway

• Detour: De Anza → Mustang → Mountain House Parkway

• Notes: This work is part of Subdivision 4211. Traffic control will be in place.

De Anza Boulevard (Northbound)

• When: Monday, November 10, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

• Where: Between Wicklund and Arnaudo Blvd

• Detour: Wicklund → Historic → Legacy → Providence → Arnaudo

• Notes: Please follow posted signage and expect brief travel delays.

The City of Mountain House is moving forward with the replacement of playground equipment at Bethany Pocket Park and Bethany Neighborhood Park (Pirate Ship). These projects were identified as top priorities in the 2024 Playground Assessment and approved by City Council in March 2025.

Tentative Project Schedule

• Bethany Pocket Park

  • Start Sitework/Demolition: Week of August 25 or September 1

  • Play Equipment Installation: September 17–26

• Bethany Neighborhood Park (Pirate Ship)

  • Start Sitework/Demolition: Week of September 29

  • Play Equipment Installation: Week of October 13

The equipment is being provided and installed by Ross Recreation Equipment, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Landscape Structures, Inc. for Northern California.

Both projects are expected to enhance community recreation by introducing innovative, inclusive, and safe play opportunities for Mountain House families.

Construction is resuming in Wicklund Village and surrounding arterial roads as part of the City’s roadway maintenance efforts. Work will occur in three phases:

• Pavement Striping Removal: Begins May 27, 2025

• Slurry Seal Application: Scheduled for June 9–17, 2025

• Pavement Re-striping: Scheduled for June 18, 2025

Important Reminders

• Streets will be temporarily closed from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on scheduled workdays.

• Do not park on posted streets during work hours—vehicles will be towed.

• Please follow all posted signs and traffic control measures for your safety and the safety of workers.

• Children and pets should be kept away from work zones during construction.

Project Description: The project involves grinding/shaving of the concrete sidewalk along the path of travel to remove lifts that pose tripping hazards. This essential work is anticipated to begin in September 2024 and is expected to be completed by October 2024. There will be a separate capital improvement project that will address severe lifts and damages to the sidewalk projected to begin later this year. The sidewalk grinding/shaving operations will occur at the following neighborhoods: Wicklund Village, Bethany Village, Altamont Village, Questa Village, Parks, and arterials.

Residents at the above neighborhoods may experience short sidewalk access restrictions as crews move along grinding/shaving operations. Residents will have complete access to driveways and walkways throughout the duration of the project. There will be no sidewalk closures for this project.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this period as we work to improve our neighborhood's sidewalks. This project is expected to address concrete sidewalk lifts at the locations mentioned above. Regular updates and work schedules will be shared to keep everyone informed.
