Mountain House’s Longstanding Role on Valley Link Board Continues
SB 506 Ensures Continued Representation on the Valley Link Board Under New City Status
Mountain House, CA –The City of Mountain House is pleased to acknowledge the signing of Senate Bill 506 (SB 506), which updates the City’s official designation in the Tri-Valley San Joaquin Valley Regional Rail Authority (Valley Link) governing documents to reflect its incorporation as California’s 483rd city on July 1, 2024.
Led by Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom, this legislative cleanup ensures Mountain House’s continued representation on the Valley Link Board, maintaining the same seat the community has held for the past seven years. The legislation plainly states:
“The bill would replace the Mountain House Community Services District with the City of Mountain House on the authority’s governing board.” –SB 506, Committee on Transportation
“This update simply reflects who we’ve already been, a community actively represented on the Valley Link Board for over seven years,” said Vice Mayor Bernice King-Tingle, who has served as Mountain House’s representative since the board’s formation. “Our commitment to regional connectivity, sustainable transit, and smart growth remains as strong as ever.”
Vice Mayor Tingle’s long-standing service has helped strengthen partnerships between San Joaquin and Alameda counties, ensuring Mountain House continues to have a strong voice in regional transportation planning. The Valley Link project aims to connect the San Joaquin Valley to the Bay Area through a clean, efficient, and sustainable rail system designed to reduce traffic congestion over the Altamont Pass.
The City of Mountain House remains a proud and active partner in this regional effort to enhance mobility, sustainability, and quality of life for residents across both counties.
